Class Information and Timetables 2008-09
The classes are run weekly at 2 locations: the Eliot Dining Hall 
(Ref: P5)
and the Missing Link
(Ref: E5) in Darwin College. This year we are running Ballroom, Latin, Competitors and
Performance classes. Competitors class is for all couples who wish to dance in competitions, and our
brand new Performance class will teach a group dance to perform at shows and demonstrations. The
prices are as follows:

Reminder for all students:
In order to sign up to the classes you need to be a member of the society. It only costs
£3 to become a member for the year, and this can easily be paid via the Kent Union website . There is a
handy guide on how to navigate around the new Kent Union website , and how to sign up to the society
on our Join page.
Please note that all members from last year must also renew their membership before signing
up to the classes.

Tuesday
Location: Eliot Dining Hall
This year the classes will begin on Tuesday 7th. October and run for 11 weeks.
6.30pm - 7.30pm First Steps Latin Class
If you have never danced Latin before then this class is for you! Come along to
learn the steps of the four latin dances - Cheeky Cha cha,
Lively and Energetic Jive, Carnival Samba and the dance of Love, the Rumba.
7.30pm - 8.30pm First Steps Ballroom Class
If you are new to Ballroom dancing then come along
to this class! We'll be teaching four different Ballroom dances - Elegant Waltz,
Fast-Paced Quickstep, Passionate Tango and the Social Foxtrot.
8.30pm - 9.30pm Competitors Class
A class for all dancers wishing to compete. Come along to learn advanced tips and
some new steps to help you win those competitions. This class is aimed at all levels
of competitors, from beginners to advanced. Don't worry if you don't have a partner,
we'll do our best to find a suitable partner for you!
9.30pm - 11.00pm Practise
Come along to practise everything you've learned in your classes. All ballroom and latin songs will be played.
Teachers will be there if anyone has any questions. Don't forget the practise is free if you've signed up for a class!
Thursday
Location: Missing Link in Darwin College
This year the classes will begin on Thursday 9th. October and run for 11 weeks.
7.15pm - 8.15pm Performance Class NEW!
If you enjoy the ballroom and latin classes, but want to learn some new steps then why not try our new class. This is a
class for anyone who wants to perform and show their dancing talent around town and at other big events across campus. We will be
learning exciting new routines all together as a group to prepare us for performances throughout the year.
We'll be learning one show dance per 5 week course.
8.15pm - 9.15pm Beginner Category Workshop Session
Another chance for everyone in the beginner category to come and practise their dancing, with helpers around to give advice and support.
9.15pm - 10.15pm Novice and above Workshop Session
A session for Novice and above to come along and work on their routines for the competitions, with helpers around to give advice and support.
